Description:

Suomenlinna Sea Fortress is a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Finland's most popular places to visit, a cultural treasure! The fortress is also a district of Helsinki with about 800 inhabitants.

Suomenlinna has taken shape through historical stages as part of the defense of Sweden, Russia and Finland. The fortress has six kilometers of walls, a hundred cannons, exciting tunnels and beautiful park areas.

Suomenlinna offers you museums, guided tours, restaurants and events for many tastes. Information on guided tours in the autumn and winter time can be found in the opening and event calendar on Suomenlinna's website. Private tours for groups are available in many languages ​​throughout the year.

Suomenlinna is located in the Helsinki archipelago near the city and can be easily reached all year round by HSL ferry from Kauppatori in just 15 minutes. During the summer, from May to September, a water bus runs from Kauppatori to Suomenlinna as well.
