KIERINKI SHOP & CAFE
Kierinki shop & cafe is located in the centre of the village and offers a wide range of services: groceries, lottery and betting, fishing permits, as well as local art or souvenirs. The reception for Kierinki Holiday Village accommodation services is located at the shop, as is the breakfast and lunch restaurant. The large sun terrace serves from early in the spring to long in to the autumn. There is a petrol station in connection with the shop.
KIERINKI HIGHLAND
Kierinki Highland – There is a Lappish food product made of the Northern herd. The Northern herd products are delicious, low-fat beef appreciated by chefs. The meat is dark red in colour, short-fibred, tender and it has a high protein content. Highland products can be purchased at the Kierinki shop & cafe or they can be enjoyed at our restaurant.
HIETALA RESTAURANT
The graceful, yellow Hietala building cannot go unnoticed when arriving to the village of Kierinki. Hietala operates as a restaurant and as a grand venue for parties, meetings and events. In the beautiful and idyllic courtyard, there are the Maailman pienin pubi (“World's smallest pub”), Latobaari (“Barn Bar”) and the Pikkupuoli Gallery buildings. The premises operate as a restaurant and meeting premises as well as exhibition premises.
ART GALLERY
Hietala’s treasures include art, handicrafts and hunting trophies. All pieces of art in the Hietala premises tell about the mysticism and tradition of Lapland.
GUESTHOUSE
The guesthouse radiates a Lappish atmosphere with its moose antlers and genuine Lappish tapestries. Our facilities have 12 rooms with a country living interior design, which have beds for up to 24 people. The guesthouse offers hotel-standard accommodation rooms for tourists, the customers have access to the guesthouse’s sauna facilities and a cosy lounge area. The guesthouse premises are easily accessible.
CARAVAN AND TENT VILLAGE
The caravan area has 25 places, of which 10 are supplied with electricity. The caravan area has a service building, where there are showers and toilets, as well as a summer kitchen for barbecues. The tent village is part of the caravan area. There are 10 furnished tents, which have tent beds, sleeping bags and pillows, tent tables and chairs.
HOLIDAY VILLAGE APARTMENTS
There is a private sauna, kitchen and lounge, as well as a terrace in each of the light and romantic apartments of the holiday village. Meals, coffee and tea can be prepared in the small kitchens. The apartments are equipped with bed linen, towels and kitchenware as well as a TV.
GRANDMA CABINS
The traditional Grandma Cabins have a lounge with a small kitchen, fireplace, TV and dishware for six people. The cabins are equipped with bed linen and towels. The cabins have electric heating, there is a water supply point and an outdoor toilet in the cabins’ courtyard. The shower facilities are located at the service building of the Holiday Village.
HISTORY
You will find traditional life and life today at Kierinki. During the Second World War, 90 % of Lapland’s original settlement was destroyed, the village of Kierinki avoided the destruction of the war completely. Genuine, original Lappish building stock even from the end of the 18th century can be seen in the village’s building stock. Kierinki’s first inhabitants were forest Lapps, the first farms have been established in the 1700s. Kierinki is a unique, preserved Lappish village ensemble.
PROGRAM AND ACTIVITIES
The village of Kierinki has been nationally assessed to be a significant scenery area in the Finnish Lapland. We offer our guests Lappish experiences in a beautiful original setting, in our own genuine way. Dog sled, horse and reindeer safaris, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, skiing and kick sledding can be arranged through us.
Northern Lights can be experienced in the yard of our guesthouse, but an unforgettable experience can be sought in the wilderness, where the only light is that of the stars, the Milky Way and the northern lights.

LOCATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION
Kierinki is located in the middle of Lapland, way into the wilderness but still close to everything. The closest airport is located in Kittilä, which is 90 km away. Rovaniemi is the nearest city and its airport and railway station are 120 km away. Sodankylä parish is at a distance of 65 km.
